The objective of this study is to evaluate the impacts on natural gas combined cycle (NGCC) efficiency from several turbine cooling parameters through sensitivity and techno-economic analyses. This study aims to identify and evaluate cooling technologies, such as advanced blade materials, thermal barrier coatings, film cooling, internal cooling and stage purge cooling, that will lead to a gas turbine efficiency greater than 40 percent, which will eventually lead to a combined cycle efficiency of 65 percent or higher.
